Minister of State for the Irish Language, the Gaeltacht and the Islands Senator Seán Kyne, today welcomed the announcement from TG4 that the television series Campaí Cúla4 will be broadcast 5 days a week for a period of 5 weeks by the station. The series – which will be aimed at young people, will be broadcast each morning from 10:00 until 10:30, Monday to Friday from the 29th of June.

The series is being produced with funding support from the Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht and Foras na Gaeilge as a particular measure under the Government’s Irish Language Action Plan 2018-2022 which is being implemented on a cross Government basis to accelerate the enforcement of the state policy for the Irish language: The 20 Year Strategy for the Irish Language 2010-2030.

Minister of State Seán Kyne stated:

‘With the uncertainty surrounding whether or not summer camps will go ahead this summer as they usually would as a result of COVID-19, Campaí Cúla4 will help alleviate this loss for Irish speaking children in the Gaeltacht and all over the country.’
