Due to the current situation impacting on the way we can interact with you, the PPN has had to drastically change the way it works over the coming months. With social distancing making it harder for us to connect and continue our work to support community groups we have adapted and are pleased to launch this new project.

What is it? The PPN Connect Project is a series of activities to connect groups and offer support. This includes an online discussion forum, a tailored information brief, as well as a ‘clinic’ platform that offers tailored supports in response to individual queries from groups.

Aims: The aim of this project is to provide support and information for community groups and help them through the current Pandemic. PPN Connect is focused on staying connected with you and offer relevant, tailored information. In doing so we aim to enable community groups to continue their important role of community engagement.

We want to help you, help your community.

Method: The project comprises 3 main activities:

  • An online discussion forum hosted by the Galway County PPN with members to share experiences, discuss challenges and collectively find solutions and consider community engagement in the future. The online discussion forum will take place using ZOOM (register here) with the first session held on Wednesday, 24 June, 2020 at 11 am. Please register your interest here: [email protected] and you will be sent a link to the session and an agenda for discussion.

  • An information brief will be sent out that focuses on methods of fundraising during Covid-19, volunteer engagement, group management and FAQs addressing matters effecting Community groups.

  • The PPN Clinic– if you have specific questions you can email us these and we will tailor our efforts to help you find a solution. The queries and responses will be published and shared, if permitted, to generate a log-book of cases and facilitate mutual learning.

Value added: PPN Connect is a project that connects groups to collectively address the current challenges facing their work and activities. It is an adaption of the PPN’s workplan to reflect the current situation and offers much needed support that is relevant to community groups.
